Hezbollah on Your iPhone: There’s An App for That

Update: The Almanartv application was removed from Apple’s iTunes over the weekend. However, it is still available for other platforms, such as Android.

In the latest example of terrorist organizations exploiting current technology to spread their violent messages, an application was made available on Wednesday through Apple’s iTunes service providing mobile access to content from Hezbollah’s satellite television station, al-Manar.
Al-Manar's iTunes App

The new free application, advertised on air by al Manar, directs users to various station content, including speeches by Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah. Al-Manar broadcasts the terrorist group’s messages of hate and violence, disseminates anti-Semitic and anti-American propaganda and glorifies suicide bombings to millions of viewers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hezbollah is a U.S. designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, and al-Manar was included on the State Department’s Terrorism Exclusion List in December 2004.

Al-Manar has a presence on other internet platforms as well, including a Twitter account with over 17,000 followers and 51,000 messages.  Other terrorist organizations use the microblogging service, including Al Shabaab, a terrorist organization in Somalia which formally merged with Al Qaeda earlier this year. There are also numerous terrorist support pages on Facebook and other social media platforms.

Conference the Latest Sign of Increased Anti-Immigrant Activity in North Carolina

On August 10-11, 2012, an anti-immigrant conference will take place in Wilmington, North Carolina titled, “IIImpact – illegal immigration and the cost to YOU!” The list of conference speakers was announced on July 23 and brings together many of the main anti-immigrant voices in the state as well as some speakers known for their anti-Muslim statements and associations.

The conference is the latest example of an increase in activity by the anti-immigrant players in North Carolina. In 2011, the NC House created the House Select Committee on the State’s Role in Immigration Policy. The Committee has had numerous hearings throughout 2012 and has provided a platform for anti-immigrant and immigrant rights activists to voice their opinions. On June 13, 2012, for example, anti-immigrant leaders including William Gheen, James Johnson and Ron Woodard met with Speaker of the House Thom Tillis (R-District 98) to discuss immigration issues. It is unclear at this time what the attendance of the conference will be but anti-immigrant groups in North Carolina have been encouraging people to go to the event for a number of weeks.

Scheduled speakers at the August event include:

William Gheen – Founder/head of the anti-immigrant group Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC). Gheen has a long history of hateful rhetoric towards immigrants.  ADL has a lengthy profile on Gheen which can be read here.

James Johnson – Founder/head of the anti-immigrant group North Carolinians for Immigration Reform and Enforcement (NCIFRE). On his Facebook page, Johnson has circulated material from the racist Web site, VDARE.com and the white supremacist group, American Renaissance. Johnson has also attended FAIR’s “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” event in the past.

Ron Woodard – president of the anti-immigrant group, NC Listen. NC Listen is listed on the Web site of the extreme anti-immigrant group Federation for American Immigration Reform’s (FAIR) as a local affiliate for North Carolina. NC Listen’s mission statement says that it “partners” with FAIR. Woodard has also attended FAIR’s annual “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” event in the past.

Sheriff Sam Page (R-Rockingham) will also be speaking. Page spoke to Congressional Leaders at an event put together by FAIR in May 2012.  In October 2011, Page participated in a panel titled, “Crime Challenges from Illegal Immigration” which was sponsored and moderated by the anti-immigrant group Center for Immigration Studies (CIS).

Ilario Pantano – A former candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and 2012, Pantano has promoted anti-Muslim sentiment. Pantano spoke at both the 2010 and 2011 9/11 rallies in New York City put on by anti-Muslim activist Pamela Geller. He has also written the following about the Islamic center close to ground zero: “It is about marking religious, ideological and territorial conquest.” He continued by stating, “This mosque is a martyr-marker honoring the terrorists who less than a decade ago killed thousands of us just two blocks away, and it must be stopped.”

Sue Myrick – retiring NC Congresswoman (R-District 9) who also has a history of anti-Muslim sentiment – she has spoken at the national conference of ACT! for America, one of the largest anti-Muslim groups in the country. She also wrote a forward for the book, Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld that’s Conspiring to Islamize America.

Latest Divestment Effort Results in Yet Another Failure for BDS Movement

Opponents of Israel have been engaged in efforts to wage economic warfare against the Jewish State via Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns for several years now. The latest such initiative, which failed this week, was a campaign to pressure Sonoma County in Northern California to stop working with Veolia, a French transportation company that is allegedly guilty of “servicing Israeli settlements in the West Bank.”

A resolution to consider not renewing the county’s contract with Veolia, which provides transit services worth $7 million, was considered on Tuesday by the county’s Human Rights Commission. The commission voted 5-4 against the resolution. It will “hear the issue further” at its August meeting, according to news reports.

In the seven years since the formal launch of an international campaign to boycott Israel, no American college campus in the United States has divested from Israel or companies that work with Israel. No church. No retirement fund. Israeli merchandise, including beauty products, hummus, and couscous, continues to be readily available on store shelves around the country.

Despite the obvious lack of mainstream appeal, many domestic anti-Israel groups – including the “North Coast Coalition for Palestine,” which was responsible for the recent campaign in Sonoma County – seem to be unwilling to recognize defeat. Even a petition circulated by the group, which was posted to the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation’s Web site, garnered less than 300 signatures.

While these campaigns are used by anti-Israel activists as a delegitimization tactic, they have never had much chance of success. In this case, even if the Human Rights Commission would have voted in favor, it has no power to enact policy and would only have been able to present a recommendation to the county’s Board of Supervisors. Many divestment resolutions that are considered on college campuses are similarly non-binding.

Head of Anti-Hispanic Hate Group Interviewed by Anti-Semitic Publication

Glenn Spencer
The conspiracy-oriented anti-Semitic publication, American Free Press (AFP) interviewed Glenn Spencer, who heads the anti-Hispanic hate group, American Border Patrol (ABP), in an article published on July 16, 2012.  ABP regularly does video surveillance of the Mexican-American border.

The article, “Obama Executive Order Means Open Door Amnesty,” was written by regular AFP contributor and conspiracy theorist Victor Thorn.  It focuses on Spencer’s views about President Obama’s executive order allowing many young undocumented immigrants to legally remain in the United States. In the article, Spencer promotes anti-Hispanic conspiracy theories about Mexicans taking over the Southwest and accuses President Obama of trying to create a one-world government under the banner of “globalism.”

Spencer has been warning of a plan by Mexicans to “invade” and “conquer” the Southwestern U.S. for more than a decade. He has claimed that the Mexican government is “sponsoring the invasion of the United States with hostile intent.”  Spencer has also attended white supremacist events and had a letter published on the racist website, VDARE.com.

Despite his views and activities, Spencer has been given some degree of legitimacy by presenting himself as an authority on immigration. In March 2012, he spoke to the Arizona State Senate’s Border Security Committee.

Thorn, who interviews Spencer for AFP, is also very problematic. In addition to writing conspiratorial articles for AFP, he has published books promoting anti-government and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. His latest book, The Holocaust Hoax Exposed: Debunking the 20th Century’s Biggest Lie, clearly promotes Holocaust denial. AFP itself focuses on anti-Semitic themes, from anti-Israel conspiracy theories to Holocaust denial. AFP is published by long-time anti-Semite and Holocaust denier Willis Carto.

Anti-Immigrant Political Action Committee Sees Rise in Contributions for 2012 Election Cycle

US Immigration Reform PAC, a political action committee whose purpose is to “reduce immigration” and “secure our nation's borders,” has seen a sharp increase in contributions for the 2012 election cycle. The PAC’s president is Mary Lou Tanton, the spouse of John Tanton, the architect of the modern day anti-immigrant movement in the United States.

According to the website Open Secrets, which tracks federal campaign contributions, US Immigration Reform PAC’s total receipts for 2012 to date are over $14,500 with almost four months to go before Election Day. While this figure is relatively low, it is up almost ten-fold from the last election cycle, where the PAC only received a little over $1500 in total receipts. In the 2012 cycle, US Immigration Reform PAC has donated $2500 to congressional candidates, so far.

Open Secrets also lists individual donors who have given $200 or more to the PAC. Among the donors for 2012 is Sharon Barnes, a longtime board member of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), an extreme anti-immigration group that was founded by John Tanton in 1979. Barnes, who has donated $300 to date, formerly sat on the editorial advisory board of Tanton’s anti-immigrant journal, The Social Contract. Another contributor of over $200 is John Rohe, who, along with his wife, donated a combined $500 to the PAC for the 2012 election cycle. Rohe is a good friend of John and Mary Lou Tanton, even penning the couple’s biography, which was published in 2002. Rohe is also the Vice President of Philanthropy at the Colcom Foundation, an organization that donates millions of dollars to anti-immigrant groups each year.

It is no surprise that US Immigration Reform PAC’s contributions are up since immigration is a hot-button issue in the 2012 election cycle. The four congressional candidates that the PAC has donated to thus far in 2012 are Lou Barletta (R-PA), Paul Broun (R-GA), Steve King (R-IA) and Allen West (R-FL).

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, ADL does not endorse or oppose any candidates for political office.

New Biased Billboard Campaign in Westchester

Several misleading billboards featuring maps of Palestine/Israel from 1946-2010 sponsored by a local anti-Israel group are currently on display in Metro-North train stations in Westchester.

The billboard at a Metro-North train station
The billboards attempt to showcase that all of Israel was owned by Palestinians pre-1948 when, in reality, much of the land was owned by non-Palestinian absentee landlords who lived in Cairo, Baghdad, Damascus and Beirut. They also try to convey that Israel is rapidly taking control of land that would comprise an eventual Palestinian state.

ADL issued a statement on the billboards, describing them as "deliberately misleading and biased."

The group that placed the ad, the Committee for Peace in Israel and Palestine (COPIP), and its chairman, Henry Clifford, have a record of advocating against Israel. The group, for example, recently endorsed the Jewish Voice for Peace-led divestment campaign targeting TIAA-CREF for investing in companies that allegedly help Israel maintain the occupation. In the past, Clifford has inflammatorily alleged that Israeli leaders have “always planned to take over all or most Palestine and to expel as many Arabs as would be necessary.”

What is perhaps most troubling is the group’s attempt to explain Palestinian terrorism as a result of Israeli policy or U.S. aid to Israel. A post on COPIP’s blog from May 2011 includes a flier that reads, “Mothers do not raise their children to be terrorists. Only when all hope is lost for a decent, secure life is a terrorist created.” It later asks, “Could it be that billions of dollars in U.S. aid to Israel is actually helping to create terrorists?”

COPIP is a member group of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, a large anti-Israel coalition based in Washington, D.C.

In the past year, anti-Israel billboards have appeared in several cities across the country, including Denver, Detroit and, most recently, Los Angeles.

Jewish Voice for Peace Lobbying Hard for Church Divestment

Update: The Presbyterian Church voted against divestment late Thursday evening, July 5. While ADL welcomed the decision, we are troubled that the issue was decided on such a narrow vote (333-331 with 2 abstentions) and that the debate was biased from start to finish with vehement anti-Israel sentiment.

Jewish Voice for Peace has been a highly visible and vocal advocate in the General Assembly in favor of the Presbyterian Church’s consideration of a virulently anti-Israel divestment resolution. The resolution, which calls for the church to divest from three companies that allegedly profit from Israel’s occupation (Caterpillar, Motorola and Hewlett-Packard), will be voted on later today by the full plenary after it was passed in committee earlier this week.

There is much to criticize about the problematic nature of the resolution itself, but one of the more disturbing elements of this campaign has been Jewish Voice for Peace’s aggressive lobbying for it.

The group invested significant time and resources to send a delegation of activists to the General Assembly who reportedly testified on the committee floor in favor of divestment and are live-tweeting the conference. A large portion of Twitter chatter about the resolution has been generated by JVP using the hashtag “#churchdivest” to provide updates on the resolution. Of tweets using that hashtag in the last 36 hours, approximately 25% have been generated by JVP and two of its staff people.

JVP activists have also created and distributed a flier called “Divest from Violence. Invest in Peace” which contains several statements from Christians who support divestment, and is circulating a petition that calls on Presbyterians to support divestment. The petition claims that the international community has failed in its efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and it is clear that BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) is now the only option left. The petition ends with, “Can you tell Presbyterians we’ve got their back?”

It is clear that JVP believes it has a very critical role to play in the domestic anti-Israel agenda: JVP promotes itself as representing the views of American Jews and can be seen as trying to provide cover against claims that the Presbyterian divestment initiatives are anti-Semitic. Nobody should be fooled. JVP is a fringe organization with its own anti-Israel agenda.

Iran Media Uses Erroneous But Widely Circulated Holocaust Myth To Deny Authenticity Of The Holocaust

A Iranian news website sympathetic to the regime in Tehran published an article denying the Holocaust by pointing to an erroneous Holocaust story that claims the Nazis manufactured soap from their Jewish victims. For this website, Mashregh News, this dubious story was all the evidence needed to prove that the Holocaust is a myth and that it must be exposed as a historical falsity.

The article is an example of an often-used tactic by neo-Nazi groups and prominent Holocaust deniers. By their logic, if the soap story is a fabrication, consequently all historical facts concerning the authenticity of the Holocaust are nothing more than “Jewish myths” promoted by an “international Jewish organization.”

The current Iranian regime is no stranger to Holocaust denial. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for “experts” to investigate the veracity of the Holocaust. In December 2006, Iran played host to a Holocaust denial conference, “Review of the Holocaust: Global Vision,” which was attended by a diverse group of anti-Semites, including neo-Nazi, radical anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian activists, and Islamic fundamentalists.

One month prior, Iran’s Culture Ministry hosted a cartoon contest that sought entries deriding Jews and mocking the Holocaust. The winning cartoon was submitted by a Moroccan artist who depicted Israelis constructing a wall around the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, with the panels of the wall reflecting an image of the infamous railway leading to the gates of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Although Mashregh News is not directly affiliated with or run by the Iranian government, it nonetheless staunchly promotes the government’s ideology and features articles and interviews with top officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Farrakhan Leads Audience in Anti-Semitic Tirade

Nation of Islam (NOI) leader Louis Farrakhan used his platform at the NOI’s Mosque Maryam in Chicago on Sunday to lead his audience in an anti-Semitic tirade.

Towards the end of his remarks, Farrakhan made a bizarre comparison between the study of ants and white people. “The Honorable Elijah Muhammad says to study [white people]. They’re successful. They make no excuses for their failures. They work hard in a collective manner like the ant….Their long coevolution with other species has led to mimetic, commensal, parasitic, and mutualistic relationships.”

He then brought Jews into the comparison:

Go back to the Secret Relationship[Between Black and Jews] …White people are wise and the wisest of white people are the members of the Jewish community…They are wise and they are the guards of their own world. Are you mad with me for saying that? [Audience: “No sir!”] You can’t go nowhere in their world without paying obeisance to them.

Farrakhan then engaged in a disturbing call-and-response with his audience:

Farrakhan: How many of you are lawyers? Only have one in the house? No wonder we go to jail so much, brother. But at the top of the law profession, who are the top in law?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: Sorry I didn’t hear you.
Audience: Jews!
Farrakhan: Any doctors in the house? Ain’t got no doctors? Oh there’s one way in the back. At the top of the medical profession, the top in that are members of the Jewish community. Anybody in media? Who’s the top in that field?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: Anybody a rapper in the house? There’s rappers. You can rap, ain’t nothing wrong with that, but at the top of that are those that control the industry. Any of you have Hollywood ambitions, Broadway ambitions… Who’s the top of that?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: Same people! They’re masters in business. Well I’m not a businessman I’m a banker. Well who’s the master of the bankers?
Audience: Jews.
Farrakhan: TALK TO ME!
Audience: Jews!
Farrakhan: You don’t discredit them because they’re masters, you discredit them by the way they use their mastery.
Audience: [applause]
Farrakhan: Now, I close.

New Black Panther Post-Summit Radio Broadcast Features Renewed Calls For Violent Confrontation

A June 25 New Black Panther Party radio broadcast featured a number of NBPP leaders discussing their June 22-23, 2012, National Leadership Summit in Georgia titled “Call to Action: Against the War on Black People,” among other issues. The NBPP is the largest organized anti-Semitic and racist black militant group in America.

National NBPP Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz emphasized that the main objective of the summit was to empower a cadre of young leadership to take the organization into the future. Shabazz explained that he doesn’t want the NBPP to become “a one man show” like other movements. This is especially true, he argued, because the NBPP is supposedly not just an organization but a provisional government for Blacks in America and eventually an actual government.

King Samir Shabazz, introduced on the broadcast as the group’s “National Field Marshal,” praised what he felt was an extremely successful summit but called for less talking and more violent action against whites. It’s time, he said, “to start cracking some crackers’ backs.” He also demanded that blacks stop spending their money at businesses belonging to “Koreans and Jews” and start worrying about black survival. Shabazz is known for vicious racist rants in which he supports violence against whites.

The most militant rant, however, came from General T.A.C.O. (Take All Capitalists Out) of the Black Riders Liberation Party. T.A.C.O. accused whites of pushing crack cocaine, HIV/AIDS, guns, and unemployment on Black communities in a constant attempt to exterminate them. He said, “the white man” knows there are panthers all over the country ready to “hunt your pink ass down” and at one point yelled “Now die!”

“Once [white people] die,” T.A.C.O. added, “we should dig them up, and kill them again! Bury them, dig them up, and kill them again, and again, and again!” In a June 13 broadcast, T.A.C.O. called on blacks to stand up for themselves and not go “passively like the Jews to the gas chambers.”

T.A.C.O. founded the Black Riders in 1996 to unite rival gangs such as the Bloods and Crips to fight against “oppressive” white society, especially the police. The goal, he explained, is to unite “street tribes” (gangs) to destroy capitalism, imperialism, and white civilization as a whole.

Much of the remaining broadcast focused on freeing Hashim Nzinga, the former NBPP Chief of Staff, who was arrested on weapons charges in March, and on the upcoming election. While some participants praised Barack Obama as a strong role model for the Black community, he was also criticized for “shocking” foreign policies such as allegedly “orchestrating the diabolical assassination of our brother Qaddafi” and making a “secret deal” with Israel that if the economy is not doing well come election time, Israel will bomb Iran to help Obama gain votes.

Saudi Student Khalid Aldawsari Convicted in Texas Bomb Plot

A Saudi national who arrived in the U.S. in 2008 on a student visa has been convicted of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction in Texas.

Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari, a former chemical engineering student at Texas Tech, was planning to use his skills to build a bomb, according to prosecutors. Although he had not definitively selected a target, Aldawsari allegedly researched of list of targets, including the Dallas home of a former president George W. Bush, nuclear power plants and former soldiers who were stationed at Abu Ghraib prison. Prosecutors also indicated that a college football game was a possible target as well.

Authorities began their investigation into Aldawsari in February 2011 after a chemical supplier in North Carolina reported an unusual purchase made by Aldawsari. He was arrested within a month in Lubbock.

The FBI found chemicals at Aldawsari’s residence along with a journal allegedly indicating that he was inspired by Osama Bin Laden and had been planning to commit a terrorist attack. In one journal entry described by the DOJ, Aldawsari wrote, “…after mastering the English language, learning how to build explosives and continuous planning to target the infidel Americans, it is time for Jihad.”

Aldawsari allegedly created a blog called FromFarAway90, where he wrote in English and Arabic about college life in America, romance, his efforts to maintain his religious identity, and his perceptions of Americans, which included some positive impressions. A few of his posts, however, were more militant, including a March 2010 post in which he wrote “grant me martyrdom for Your sake and make jihad easy for me.”

A month later, he wrote in Arabic, “Muslims can not enjoy a carefree life and peace when in front of them and behind them their lands and dignities are being desecrated with the help of the Arab traitors and other Zionist rulers inside the Muslim world…” His Facebook profile lists “STOP Israel’s War Crimes in Gaza” as one of his interests.

Aldawsari faces a possible life-sentence at a hearing scheduled for October. Anti-Defamation league

Sabeel Attacks Israel From All Angles In Its "Cornerstone" Publication

The Spring 2012 edition of Cornerstone, a publication of the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center, is a full scale assault on Israel’s legitimacy from all angles. The Sabeel Center is a driving force behind the campaign by mainline Protestant churches to divest from Israel, including a number of proposed resolutions being considered at next week’s Presbyterian General Assembly.

The publication depicts Israel as systematically racist, employs offensive Holocaust imagery and uses theological arguments to demonize the Jewish State.

An article titled The Role of the Prophet, written by Sabeel Center co-founder and executive committee member Jonathan Kuttab, notes that “Judaism brought [together] the two correctives of the Law and the Prophets.” It then describes Israel as an unjust and racist country that approves “laws that violate the interests and freedoms of the individual or the minorities living among them.”

Kuttab blames most Jews in Israel for what he perceives as unfair treatment of the Arab population, saying, “the majority of Israeli Jews, acting through their duly elected representatives are the architects of these laws.”

An article submitted by Mossawa, the advocacy center for Arab citizens of Israel, is titled Anti-Democratic, Anti-Arab Legislation in Israel. The synopsis states “there are at least 35 laws which discriminate directly or indirectly against Arab citizens of Israel.” The article lists “four key legislative measures” as evidence, citing as one example the Citizenship law, which Mossawa claims “disproportionately affects Arab citizens,” although it applies to all Israelis.

An Open Letter to Foreign Missions by Taiseer Khatib, an Arab citizen of Israel, tells a story of his wife and children having problems obtaining permanent residency inside of Israel. This problem, Khatib contends, is a result of the Citizenship Law, which he claims shows Israel’s racism since its goal is allegedly to “diminish the number of the Arab population.” He adds that this “should remind Jews in Israel of dark times in their own history, when they were themselves separated from their families, never to see them again.”

A poem titled Hear O Israel by Jewish Voice for Peace activist David Glick also makes claims that Israel is inherently racist and compares the country to Nazi Germany, saying, “But what O Israel/Have you become?/The Nazis made me fearful to be a Jew/but you [Israel] have made me ashamed.” He then writes “Time to confront the darkness we have become./With the Holocaust it is Never Forget/but with Deir Yassin it is Never Mind.”

Suspected Pipeline Bomber Has Anti-Government Extremist Ties, Admired Joseph Stack

Anson Chi on YouTube
Anson Chi, the north Texas man authorities suspect bombed a natural gas pipeline station in Plano, Texas, on June 18, is an anti-government extremist active in the tax protest movement.

Chi, 32, a former engineer who claimed to have “retired” but was living with his parents, supported many causes, including environmental and animal rights causes, but the convictions he expressed most strongly in on-line writings were anti-government ones. He routinely posted anti-government comments to his Facebook Wall, collecting them from both the right and left.

However, statements by Chi in recent years reveal a strong connection with the right-wing “patriot movement,” especially its tax protest branch. The tax protest movement claims Americans aren’t required to pay federal income taxes and a government conspiracy is hiding this fact. “There is no law for the average American to pay the income tax,” Chi claimed in 2010, “as stated over and over again by the Supreme Court—case closed!”

In 2010, after fellow tax protester Joseph Andrew Stack flew his plane into an IRS building in Austin, Texas, in a suicide attack, Chi posted a link to Stack’s suicide note while proclaiming, “Bring down the IRS!”

Chi’s postings reveal familiarity with the movement’s pseudo-legal arguments, as well as key figures. Chi easily rattled off the names of tax protest gurus and court cases involving tax protesters. Saying he was a “paralegal,” Chi claimed to be friends with tax protest movement attorneys Tom Cryer and Larry Becraft, and to have attended the trial of Sherry Jackson, a former IRS employee who joined the tax protest movement and was convicted in 2007 of failing to file income tax returns.

Chi was also familiar with the pseudo-legal arguments of the sovereign citizen movement, proclaiming in late 2010 that he knew “all about admiralty maritime law and the strawman theory.”

Chi’s other fixation was on the banking system; like many anti-government extremists, he was obsessed with “international bankers” and the Federal Reserve. “Your life is under control by greedy private bankers,” he told visitors to his Facebook page, “especially since they print YOUR money based on nothing but thin air!”

Chi liked the movie Zeitgeist, as well as other recent popular on-line movies that combined New World Order and Federal Reserve conspiracy theories with New Age concepts. Chi’s postings reflected the theories advanced by such movies. “The private central bankers like the Rothschilds—changed from Jewish name Bauer, like Henry Kissinger changed from Heinz Loeb,” he wrote in 2010, “are…a bunch of con artists, working as the financial gatekeepers…for the Vatican.”

David Duke Endorses Congressional Candidate Due to Shared Anti-Zionist Views

In a video posted to his Web site on June 20, former Klan leader David Duke endorses Charles Barron, an African-American Congressional candidate from New York. Duke says that he shares Barron’s anti-Zionist and anti-Israel views. Duke also calls Barron’s opponent, Hakeem Jeffries, a “bought and paid for Zionist Uncle Tom.” In the same video, Duke tries to paint himself as a champion of equal rights for blacks and whites while pointing to Jews as the common enemy of both.

Duke’s endorsement of Barron gives Duke the opportunity to expound on his own anti-Semitic views. Duke repeatedly asserts that Jews control the media, government and banking in the United States and calls Israel “the worst rogue terrorist state on earth.”

Duke, a long-time racist and anti-Semite, suggests that Barron’s anti-white views were foisted upon him by Jews who allegedly control Hollywood and release movies with “vicious anti-white propaganda.” In the video clip below, Duke argues that black leaders like Barron “should work to lessen the enmity between blacks and whites and realize that the Jewish extremists in America keep whites and blacks from mutually solving our interests and differences.”

While Duke criticizes Barron for supporting affirmative action and for espousing “extreme racist, even violently anti-white rhetoric,” he tells African-Americans that they have a lot in common with European-Americans. He claims that they both want to have control over their communities, schools and the people with whom they associate. Duke argues that African-Americans need to realize that Jews and “Zionist globalism” are the “ultimate real enemies of both our peoples.”

Former Congressman Tom Tancredo to Speak at White Supremacist Conference

Former Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) is scheduled to speak at the national conference of the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC), according to a recent newsletter distributed by the group. The conference is scheduled to take place July 6-7, 2012, in Nashville, Tennessee. Tancredo's topic will be "Multiculturalism - the Death of America."

If this announcement is correct, Tancredo, who is known for his anti-immigrant rhetoric and attacks on multiculturalism, has shown his true colors by agreeing to appear before a group that promotes racism and white separatism. The CofCC traces its roots directly to the racist, anti-integrationist White Citizens' Councils of the 1950s and 1960s. The group exploits hot-button issues such as immigration and black-on-white crime to inflame fears about minorities and the destruction of white culture in America.

Among the scheduled speakers at the CofCC conference are Don Black who runs Stormfront, the largest and most popular white supremacist Internet forum; Derek Black, Don Black's son, who runs a radio show with his father on Stormfront, and James Edwards, whose radio show, The Political Cesspool, regularly features racists and anti-Semites.

In the last few years, Tancredo has become increasingly strident in his view that the influx of both legal and undocumented immigrants is destroying American culture. At the Conservative Political Conference (CPAC) in February 2011, at a panel titled, “Will Immigration Kill the GOP?” Tancredo alleged that the “cult of multiculturalism” had hurt the United States and the rest of the world, particularly Western Europe. He asserted that multiculturalism was “the dagger point into the heart of western civilization.”

The CPAC panel was sponsored by Youth for Western Civilization (YWC), a far-right student group, which made Tancredo its honorary chairman. YWC has also decried multiculturalism for "destroying and dispossessing the people and culture of the West.” The term “Western civilization” has become a euphemism in far-right and racist circles to signify white European culture. During a February 2009 lecture at American University that YWC organized, Tancredo suggested that "throughout history, people who are not white Anglo-Saxon have become American by adopting a white Anglo-Saxon culture."

Jews Control Black Politicians Says Deric Muhammad

Image From The Final Call Article
The Nation of Islam’s newspaper, The Final Call, promotes the anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that Jews control all levels of American government, including the President himself.

The article, titled “The Secret Relationship Between Black Politicians and Jews,” is written by contributor Deric Muhammad, who is described as “a Houston-based activist in the Ministry of Justice.”

Muhammad claims that Obama “had to pledge allegiance to Israel’s flag before he could pledge allegiance to America’s as her president. He was following the course of the vast majority of Black politicians who fear the Jewish lobby more than they fear the Black vote.” He later describes being “sickened” by the way black politicians “kowtow at the mere mention of AIPAC and the Jewish lobby.”

Muhammad also minimizes Jewish involvement in the civil rights struggle and paints it as part of a larger disingenuous Jewish plan to gain control over black politicians. “Jewish people bankrolled the Civil Rights Organizations that marched to uproot the Jim Crow laws that Jews put in place so that we could secure to [sic] right to vote for Black politicians that would eventually end up under Jewish control. You have got to be kidding me.”

The article also perpetuates myths about the relationship between Jews, money, and undue political influence, claiming “…the Jewish community can always use the might of their unified dollars to bully our elected officials into becoming cheerleaders for ‘all things Jewish.’”

On June 13, The Final Call tweeted another article by Muhammad published in January that promotes similar stereotypes about Jewish control over African-Americans, specifically musicians. In the article, Muhammad asserts there have been “decades of draconian record contracts, usury and the general slave/slavemaster relationship between Black entertainers and entertainment executives who happen to be Jewish.”

Anti-Israel Billboard Campaign Hits Los Angeles

A Billboard Displayed in Los Angeles
Update: As of June 24th, CBS Outdoor advertising took down the 23 anti-Israel billboards because the Coalition to Stop 30 Billion to Israel used the ‘CBS Outdoor’ name in their publications without permission. Nonetheless, the group said, “we hope to continue our L.A. campaign, but regardless we will be looking at other cities to continue this important work in the future.”

In a continued effort to marginalize Israel through advertisements, a new billboard campaign was launched in Los Angeles this week by the anti-Israel organization “Coalition to Stop $30 Billion to Israel.”

According to a press release issued by the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, there will be 23 billboards displayed in the Los Angeles area that read, “Tell Congress: Spend Our Money at Home, Not on the Israeli Military.”

The US Campaign’s press release asserts that the “Israel lobby” might try to put an end to the campaign, but that supporters of the billboards’ message “cannot allow them to stifle dialogue.”

U.S. aid to Israel is critical for Israel, but it is critical for the U.S. as well. Israel is required to spend most of the aid on American-made products and military equipment, which benefits the American economy. In addition, the U.S. government rightly considers providing a key ally in the region with aid to be in its own best interests.

The Coalition to Stop $30 Billion to Israel was first created in 2009 in New Mexico. The group has been responsible for anti-Israel billboards and ads in Albuquerque, Seattle and, most recently, Denver.

Iranian TV Exposes The “Hollywood Jew”

Screenshot from IRINN's "Apocalypse Now"
The Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN), Iran’s state-run news channel, aired a program on June 13 repeating classic conspiracies about Jewish control of the film industry.

According to the Anti-Defamation League’s translation, the program – which aired between news segments – claimed that Hollywood uses “the theories of Secularism and the ideals of the Crusaders and Zionists to deceive the whole world, and the biggest deceit is to facilitate the ‘Zionification’ of the world.”

The narrator of the program, titled “Apocalypse Now,” claimed that a Jewish-Zionist conspiracy has taken root in Hollywood, namely, a conspiracy by Jewish filmmakers to “create a Zionist society out of the audience.”

This sinister plan, according to the program, was made possible by European Jewish immigrants who were the pioneers and architects of Hollywood. Films produced by Jewish studio heads cunningly insert the cultural ideals of Zionism into their productions, which they then “fed to the American masses.”

To advance its conspiratorial anti-Semitic narrative of Jewish control over the film industry, the program focused on the Jewish ancestry and origins of a series of studio founders, described as “Hollywood moguls.”

The program ended with an accusation that these “Hollywood Jews,” including the families of studio founders and well-known Jewish movie stars, have purposely changed their names from Jewish to “Christian” ones in order to conceal their unsavory links and the promotion of Zionist values and ideas in their films.

Iran’s state-run media has long acted as the clerical regime’s mouthpiece to disseminate anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist and anti-Western sentiments.

The Bloody Trail of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas

What’s the most violent extremist group in the United States today? The answer may be surprising: it is the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas (ABT), one of the largest white supremacist prison gangs in the country. According to ADL records, since 2000, this racist group—which has no relationship to the older, “original” Aryan Brotherhood—has killed more Americans than any other domestic extremist group.

Since 2000, ABT members and associates have committed at least 29 murders in the United States, all in Texas or neighboring states. The true number is likely considerably higher, as most murders that occur behind prison walls do not get reported by the media. The 29 known killings are all “street” killings, more evidence of the growing presence of racist prison gangs on the streets of America.

Why are there so many ABT murders? There are two main reasons. The first is that the ABT inculcates an acceptance of violence in its members; violence is as often as not the first—or even only—solution to a perceived problem.

The second relates to the nature of racist prison gangs in general and the ABT in particular: the ABT is an organized crime group as well as a white supremacist group. The ABT constitution even acknowledges that it can be a “hindrance” to put ideological beliefs before “business transactions” and that the group has to generate income to further its “mission and growth.” The result is that many ABT murders take place in connection with their “traditional” criminal activities, such as methamphetamine trafficking, home invasions, and identity theft.

Even more ABT murders are actually internal murders, in which gang members kill their own, usually because they believe or suspect the victim has become an informant or broken gang rules, but also sometimes due to factional or other internal fights. It is almost as dangerous to be an ABT member as it is to encounter one.

Ironically, only 3 of the 29 known murders linked to this white supremacist group in the past 12 years were actually hate-related, though there have been other hate-related crimes by ABT members, ranging from assaults to arsons of African-American churches.

There is no doubting, however, the viciousness of the ABT killings, some of which were torture-murders while others were execution-style killings, in which the victim’s body was burned, decapitated or otherwise dismembered in order to make identification difficult.

Neo-Nazi Bill White Arrested in Mexico

Authorities arrested neo-Nazi Bill White in Mexico on June 8, after he allegedly spent nearly a month on the run.  He is reportedly back in the United States and being held in Miami, Florida.

A federal arrest warrant was issued for White after it was discovered that he was no longer in Virginia, where he was on probation.  A federal jury had convicted him in December 2009 on four counts, including making threats on the Internet and witness intimidation. White, who served over two years in prison, was released in April 2011.

White may have feared being sent back to prison. His appeal of his conviction on First Amendment grounds led a federal appeals court to uphold the conviction in March 2012. However, the court also ruled that White should have received a stiffer sentence on one of the counts involving intimidating letters he sent to the African-American residents of a Virginia Beach housing complex who were filing a discrimination suit against their white landlord. The U.S. government, which had originally indicted White, asserted that because at least one of the tenants had young children, White should have received an enhanced sentence for targeting an especially vulnerable population. The appeals court agreed with the government’s argument. White had been scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Roanoke, Virginia, in May for resentencing in the case.

Since his release from prison in April 2011, White had been writing for two anti-Semitic publications, the conspiracy-oriented American Free Press (AFP) and The Barnes Review (TBR), a Holocaust denial publication. Both are published by long-time anti-Semite Willis Carto.

More recently, in March 2012, AFP announced that it was hosting a book release dinner in honor of White’s new book, Centuries of Revolution: Democracy, Communism, Zionism. The event was co-hosted by TBR and the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens.

White is the former head of the now-defunct American National Socialist Workers Party, and a former leader in the National Socialist Movement.
