Anti-Israel Billboards Surface in Denver and Detroit

Pay much attention to the billboards you see on the highway? Well, some anti-Israel groups in the United States are betting you do and paying to advertise their message on prominent billboards.

Last week, three anti-Israel organizations  – If American Knew, Deir Yassin Remembered and Jewish Witnesses for Peace and Friends – responded to a pro-Israel billboard in Detroit by securing billboard space of their own with the message, “$8 million/ Day to Israel? Our money is needed in America!” Another billboard that recently appeared in Denver read, “Tell Congress: Spend Our Money at Home Not on the Israeli Military.” The Denver billboard was paid for by the Coalition to Stop $30 Billion, a New Mexico-based group that first displayed a similar message on a billboard in Albuquerque in 2009.

In addition to these new billboards, anti-Israel signs and advertisements have regularly appeared  on buses and subways in large metropolitan areas since 2010, including New York City, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Chicago. The ads, which call for an “End [to] U.S. military aid to Israel,” were organized by a coalition of national anti-Israel organizations operating under the umbrella of a campaign called “Be On Our Side.”

It seems likely that the activists paying for and placing these ads are newly optimistic that their message will resonate in light of the fragile state of the U.S. economy and the national debt. The Coalition to Stop $30 Billion, for example, explains: “All this money is flowing away while America is suffering the worst financial collapse since the Great Depression.”

Amen! Move to a crappy neighborhood, steal their land, deal with the consequences by yourself, Israel!

I LOVE these billboards. If Americans knew is accurate reporting of the conflict in the middle east. Watch Occupation 101. A great documentary that illustrates Israel's ethnic cleansing of Palestine.
Sanction Boycott and Divest from Israel.

Boy! You people have your facts incorrect!! Do some research before following propaganda and posting gibberish!!! Have you all forgotten 911 ?!! Israel 'cleans up' the world's mess, we should eternally be grateful to it and support it in any way we can, or another 911 is bound to repeat itself!! No one is mentioning anything about all the US aid going to other Middle Eastern countries, where they kill their own people!!! WAKE UP WORLD!!

All right!! I LOVE these billboards! By the way,Iran has over 24,000 Jews living there; the largest population in the Middle East outside of Israel. Funny that Israel can't wait to bomb Iran- talk about killing their own people! http://www.sephardicstudies.org/iran.html

I appreciate these boards. At first I thought it was part of the Ron Paul campaign. The message resonates with many ex vets, sick of our foreign policies, an continually seeking hate and war against Arabs and muslims, which is being pushed by Israel. That country of Israel, based in racism and war, is going to destroy this country if we don't wake up!

we do need to know these things. and, we need to end US military aid everywhere. Limit our aid to humanitarian and medical aid where people are starving and dying for want of food, water, sanitation systems, etc. -- and in fact, such aid should be being sent to many US communities that are impoverished and in need....send aid that will heal wounds and win friends, notkill and maim and intensify hatred. i hope millions see these bulletin boards and look into this for themselves.

I guess some people see the light and learn the truth, and like the writers on this blog, some don't!! I wonder what it takes for all of you to wake up and realize who our enemies and friends are!!
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.Isaiah 1:18" AND "Psalm 125:2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore."
You can spew your hatred for Israel, but in the end, it is always between us and G-d, not between us and them!

Who shall we support then?? You tell me.....Yes, we need to support our own, in the USA, but we also need to help Israel, or we'll have a bigger problem on our hands!

What ethnic cleansing? Arabs- both muslim and christian--serve in the Israeli parliment (the Knesset), they vote and have civil rights. Is it perfect? Of course not, should the Israelis evacuate the WB? Yes! but only when the have a stable, viable peace agreement. You want to see ethnic cleansing? See the treatment of christians in muslim lands--denied rights, murdered in riots, churches burned. Look at the fate of other minorities and women in muslim/arab lands, even the areas under the PA: honor killings, persecutions, etc. You simply cannot ignore that in most arab lands, ONLY muslim men have anything close to civil and economic rights. now, look at Israel and its open, democratic (albeit imperfct, yes with right-wing religious and nationalist nuts of its own) society where there is much more public protection of civil rights whether you are Jew, Muslim, Chrsitian, Filipino, Sudanese, etc, etc. Those who claim to be progressive and puruse such nonsense as these billboards are, as Lenin once said about clueless supporters of the USSR, "useful idiots" to the misinformation of the mulim rejectionists.

For almost eight years one of the groups who sponsors the billboards, Jewish Witnesses for Peace and Friends, has been protesting every Saturday in front of Beth Israel Congregation in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The protesters seem to believe that a small Conservative Shul in Michigan holds the keys to power in the Middle-East.

Congregants have to pass distasteful and offensive signs condemning Israel as they enter the sanctuary for Shabbat worship. We have been told that no matter how distasteful it is, it is perfectly legal.
