I arrived to Israel and a Palestinian man sold me his house for all the gold my wife was wearing. I lived happily since then in my house. The Egyptians kept attacking my new home to take it away. How is this billboard ok?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219137490140709992.post-26327152630393631112012-07-13T06:21:25.764-04:002012-07-13T06:21:25.764-04:00A thorough debunking of this ad:

The billboard doesn't say anything about the ethnic identity of the owners of the land. "Palestinian land" doesn't mean, "land owned by Palestinians." This is clear from the second map which designates as "Jewish" those areas that had considerable non-Jewish ownership of the land (and ditto for Palestinian land)

What the map says is that the land available for Palestinian sovereignty has shrunk considerably from 1945 until the present, whereas the land available for Jewish sovereignty has grown considerably. This is an intolerable and unjust situation, especially since most of the Palestinian land was expropriated by the Israelis and then used for Jewish settlement.

Why is this important?

When I have a whole pizza, and you say, let's split it fairly, and then after you have taken six slices, you say, "If you don't split the rest 50/50 you are being unreasonable" -- well, it's important to remind people the history of the pizza.Jerry Haberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15173892714754718716noreply@blogger.com
